Which documents do you need?

  • Energy label for the home
  • Title deed (eigendomsakte) and cadastral extract
  • For apartments: documents from the owners' association (VvE)
  • Details of your mortgage, for the notary

How does a sale in the Netherlands work?

Once you agree on the price, the purchase agreement (koopovereenkomst) is put in writing. The buyer has a three-day cooling-off period. The notary (notaris) prepares the transfer deed and pays out the proceeds on the transfer date.
